Quiz Night Success

24th Apr 2024

The Friends of St Paul's Association, (FOSPA) wish to thank everyone who came along and supported their very first Quiz last weekend.  Parents, friends and families had their wits tested by the range of questions Mr Geoghegan had crafted together.  The eight rounds included “Are you smarter than an 11-year-old?”, A 60th Birthday Picture Round and a Music Round which had everyone singing out some 80’s /90’s classics then trying to remember the next lyrics when the music stopped.

Nine teams gathered in the Downshire Arms and put their heads together.  In the end, two teams came neck and neck in a tie breaker but after the decider question, the winning team was “The Quizzards of Oz”.  They won a case of beer and very kindly donated their prize money of £30 back to St Pauls.

We wish to thank the many donations of raffle prizes.  The lucky winners were:

  1. Two Balmoral Show tickets donated by Avenue Taxis won by Conal Gribben
  2. £40 voucher donated by the Downshire Arms won by Mrs Dwyer, teacher at St Paul’s.
  3. £40 voucher for Morgan Meats donated by Kids Univerze, won by Bridget Quinn.

They wish to thanks the Downshire Arms for their use of the bar area, sound system and the tasty hot buffet served during half time.
